Orders & Shipping
Where do you ship to?
We offer worldwide shipping. So no matter where you call home, you can enjoy a little piece of The Hippie Shake delivered straight to your door.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs depend on where you’re based and which delivery option you go for. You’ll see all the details clearly at checkout before you confirm your order. No hidden surprises, just transparent pricing.
How long will my order take to arrive?
We aim to dispatch your order within 1–2 working days. Delivery times vary depending on your location, but all expected transit times can be found at checkout. You’ll also receive a tracking number so you can keep an eye on your order’s journey. UK orders usually arrive within 2–4 working days, while international deliveries may take a little longer.
Do you offer express or next-day delivery?
Yes, we do. For UK customers, we offer a next day delivery option at checkout. If you’re ordering internationally, you can choose between economy and express shipping, with express being the quicker of the two. All available options and estimated delivery times will be shown at checkout based on your location.
How can I track my order?
As soon as your order’s on its way, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number and a link to track it.
My order hasn’t arrived - what should I do?
If your order’s taking longer than expected, first check your tracking info for any updates. Still unsure? Drop us a message at info@thehippieshake.co.uk. We’re here to help and will look into it right away for you.
Can I change or cancel my order once it’s been placed?
If you need to make a change to your order, please email us as soon as possible. We’ll always do our best to help – but once an order has been passed to our warehouse for processing, we’re unable to make any changes or cancel it.
Do I have to pay customs/import duties and taxes?
Nope — no surprise fees here. We’ve partnered with Global-e to ensure all taxes and duties are included in your order total at checkout, wherever you are in the world. That means the price you see is the price you pay, with no extra customs charges on delivery.
What happens if I receive an item that’s faulty or not what I ordered?
We’re so sorry if something’s not quite right. Please get in touch with us within 14 days of receiving your order, ideally with a couple of photos and your order number. We’ll make it right, we promise.
My order tracking says it’s been delivered, but I haven’t received it. What should I do?
Sometimes parcels like to play hide-and-seek. Check with your neighbours or local delivery office first, as they may have signed for it on your behalf. Still no sign? Send us an email to info@thehippieshake.co.uk and we’ll help track it down.
What does pre-order mean?
Pre-order means you’ve reserved your item ahead of time, before it’s in stock. It guarantees your piece won’t sell out, but it won’t be dispatched until the estimated shipping date listed on the product page.
If your order contains both pre-order and ready-to-ship items, everything will be sent together once the pre-order item is ready.
We’ll keep you updated by email and let you know the moment your parcel is on its way.
Returns & Exchanges
What is your returns policy?
We hope you love your order, but if something’s not quite right, you can return your items within 21 days of delivery for a refund.
As a small business, we’re not able to offer free returns just yet. Here's how it works:
UK Returns – Use our pre-paid Royal Mail label, which is provided via our returns portal. A fee of £4.95 will be deducted from your refund to cover return shipping.
International Returns – You're welcome to return your item using a courier of your choice. This cost is covered by the customer. We recommend using a tracked service, as we can’t take responsibility for items lost in transit.
Returned items must be in their original condition, unworn and unwashed. Items showing signs of wear or damage won’t be eligible for a refund.
How do I return an item?

Can I exchange for a different size or style?
Yes - if we have the item in stock, we’d be happy to arrange an exchange. Please head to our returns portal to get started.
How long does it take to process a refund?
Once your return reaches us, please allow up to five working days for your refund to be processed. You’ll receive an email confirmation as soon as it’s been completed.
Do I have to pay for shipping for my return?
Yes, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
UK returns: A fee of £3.95 will be deducted from your refund.
International returns: You’ll need to organise and pay for your own return shipping. We recommend using a service like Parcel2Go to compare courier options.
Are there any items that can’t be returned?
Yes – we’re unable to accept returns on the following:
- Items marked as final sale
- Earrings (for hygiene reasons)
- Items that have been worn, washed, or damaged
If you’re unsure whether your item is eligible, feel free to get in touch.
My order was returned to you because it wasn’t collected from my nominated pickup point – what happens now?
If an order is returned to us due to it not being collected we’ll refund the cost of the items once they arrive back with us – minus the original shipping fee. If you’d like us to resend the parcel, a new shipping fee will apply.
Can I drop off my return to your office instead?
We don’t currently accept in-person returns, so all items must be sent via post using the return instructions above.

How do I know what size to order?

Do you have a size guide?
Yes, every product page includes a size guide tailored to that specific style. You'll find measurements and fit notes to help you decide with confidence.
Are your items true to size?
Most of our styles are true to size, but because each piece is thoughtfully crafted – often with vintage-inspired silhouettes – the fit can vary slightly. We always include detailed fit notes on each product page to guide you.

Sustainability & Ethics
Is The Hippie Shake sustainable?
We’re proud to be on a journey towards a more sustainable way of doing fashion. That means creating small-batch capsule collections with limited runs of just 150 pieces per style – reducing waste and making every item feel like a forever treasure.
Our packaging is 100% plastic-free, made from FSC-certified paper and compostable garment bags. We use natural fibres wherever possible (our Heroes collection is 75% natural!), and we plant a tree for every order through our partner, Veritree.
It’s all part of our commitment to slow fashion, circularity and crafting pieces that are made to last. You can read more about what we’re doing here.
Where are your clothes made?
We work with a small group of trusted makers in India, China and Turkey – chosen for their skill, attention to detail and commitment to ethical production.
Most of our collections are made in India, where we’ve built long-standing relationships with artisans who specialise in traditional techniques like aari and zari embroidery. We regularly visit our factory partners and have strict agreements in place to ensure safe working conditions, fair treatment and full compliance with labour laws.
Every piece is crafted with care and designed to move through time with you – stitched with soul and made to last.
Do you use ethical production practices?
Yes – ethical production is a non-negotiable for us. We only work with manufacturers who share our values around fair treatment, safe working conditions and full compliance with labour laws.
We have formal agreements in place with all of our factory partners, and we regularly visit them in person – especially our primary factory in India, where much of our collection is made using traditional, artisanal techniques.
Every piece is created with care, respect and integrity – it’s just as important to us as the design itself.
What fabrics and materials do you use?
We prioritise natural fibres and timeless textures that feel as good as they look. 75% of our Heroes collection is made from natural fabrics – and we’re always working to increase that number with every new capsule.
Our labels are made from 100% cotton, and we carefully select materials based on wearability, longevity and comfort. From soft cotton to luxe blends with vintage charm, every fabric is chosen to honour the craftsmanship behind each design.
We’ll always be transparent about what we use – and why – because thoughtful fashion starts with what it’s made from.
Do you plant a tree for every order?
We do! For every order placed, we plant a tree through our partner Veritree – helping restore forests in Brazil and Senegal.
It’s part of our commitment to giving back to the planet and building a more climate-positive future. These reforestation projects don’t just absorb carbon – they also create jobs, support biodiversity, and protect the natural balance of water and soil in local ecosystems.

What is The Hippie Shake Re-Loved?
The Hippie Shake Re-Loved is our official marketplace for buying and selling pre-loved pieces from past collections.
It’s a space for our community to give their garments a second life – whether you’re passing on a piece you’ve loved or hunting down one that got away. By keeping our clothes in circulation, we’re championing circular fashion and helping reduce waste in a way that feels beautifully nostalgic.
Re-Loved launched as a three-month trial with Treet, and thanks to the amazing response, we’re excited to keep the magic going.
What packaging do you use?
All of our packaging is 100% plastic-free – because the planet doesn’t need any more throwaway waste.
We ship your order in FSC-certified paper mailing bags that are fully recyclable and water-resistant. Inside, you’ll find your pieces in reusable garment bags made from cornstarch, which are biodegradable and compostable. We’ve even ditched swing tags to avoid unnecessary extras.
Every detail is designed with care – right down to the way it’s wrapped.
Products & Stocks
Will you restock sold-out items?
Most of our pieces are part of limited-run collections, which means once they’re gone, they’re usually gone for good. This helps us reduce waste and keep our collections feeling special. That said, we our Heroes collection is our eternal collection so it's always around and it will be restocked. Also we do occasionally bring back bestsellers, so if there’s something you missed, let us know. We’re always listening.
Can I be notified when something is back in stock?
Yes! Just head to the product page and select your size – if it’s sold out, you’ll see the option to sign up for a restock alert. You’ll be the first to know if we bring it back.
How should I care for my Hippie Shake pieces?
Each piece is designed to be treasured, and with the right care, it’ll stay part of your wardrobe for years to come.
Care instructions can vary between styles, so be sure to check both the product page and the care label inside your garment for the best advice on how to look after your piece.

Do you stock plus sizes?
We're actively working to expand our size range and become more inclusive across our collections. At the moment, around 75% of our styles go up to UK 24 / US 20, and we know there’s more to do.
Inclusivity is important to us, and we're committed to continuing this progress. If there’s a particular size or style you’d love to see, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.
Do you offer menswear?
Our collections are designed with self-expression in mind, rather than traditional gender lines – so while we don’t currently offer a dedicated menswear range, many of our pieces are worn and loved by customers of all genders. We say: wear what makes you feel most you.
Gifting & Packaging
Do you offer gift wrapping or special packaging?
We don’t currently offer a gift wrapping service, but every order is packed with care in our signature packaging, ready to brighten someone’s day.
Can I include a gift note with my order?
Not at the moment. We’re a small team, so we’re keeping things simple while we focus on getting orders out quickly and smoothly. But we love that you’re treating someone, and we hope they love their surprise.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, we offer digital gift cards, which are delivered straight to your inbox (or theirs!) and can be used anytime online. Perfect for last-minute gifting or when you’re just not sure which dreamy piece to pick.
Do gift cards expire?
No, our gift cards don’t expire. You (or your lucky recipient!) can take your time and use it whenever feels right.
My gift card isn’t working — what should I do?
We're so sorry about that! If your gift card code isn’t being recognised at checkout, the best thing to do is drop us an email to info@thehippieshake.co.uk and we’ll take a look and get it sorted for you as quickly as possible.
Wholesale & Collaborations
Do you offer wholesale opportunities?
We don’t currently offer wholesale. Our collections are designed and produced in limited runs, with a focus on quality, craftsmanship and slow fashion.

The Hippie Shake Re-Loved
Do you have a resale platform for secondhand pieces?
Yes! We’ve partnered with Treet to launch our official resale platform, where you can shop and sell pre-loved Hippie Shake pieces.
It’s a great way to give your clothes a second life and shop more consciously.

I bought something on the resale platform and there's an issue with my order. Who do I contact?
All resale orders are handled directly by Treet, so their customer support team is the best point of contact for any issues with your order.
You can email them at support@treet.co.
To help speed things up, include your order number, the email address you used at checkout, and a short description of the issue. Treet usually replies within one business day.
As the resale platform is managed separately from The Hippie Shake, we don’t have access to order or shipping information on our side.
Can I return or exchange something I bought on the resale platform?
Returns and exchanges for resale items are also handled by Treet. Please contact their team at support@treet.co for help with anything related to secondhand orders.
Is your resale platform available in my country?
Right now, our resale platform is available in the UK and the US only.
We’d love to expand this in the future and your feedback helps us understand where the demand is, so thank you for sharing.
