Some pieces deserve a second life. The Rainbow Ladyland Black Embroidered Long Penny Lane Coat takes its embroidery from a much-loved vest from an earlier chapter of The Hippie Shake, reworking it into something altogether more dramatic.

This time, the artwork has been updated in softer, more wearable tones and set against rich black cotton velvet. The embroidery runs with golden, shimmering detail and really comes into its own across the back, where the scale of the artwork feels almost like something you’d want hanging on the wall. Shaggy black faux fur frames the long shape, while a soft cotton lining keeps it comfortable inside.

This is the statement coat of the capsule. Throw it over a simple dress, denim or one of your favourite Heroes pieces, add killer boots and let the coat do the rest. The longer length gives it that extra bit of drama, especially once the embroidery catches the light.

It has a definite Janis Joplin spirit to it. Black velvet, folk embroidery, oversized fur and absolutely no interest in blending into the background.
