The Moonbeam Purple Embroidered Long Penny Lane Coat takes the framed embroidery of our Ophelia Dress and reworks it in a much more psychedelic direction. Set against a deep purple cotton velvet base, the artwork feels bold, colourful and full of the decorative detail we love.
The embroidery runs vertically through the coat and around the borders, with playful floral details adding even more colour against the rich velvet. Shaggy faux fur trims, with a subtle purple tone, frame the long shape and give it that slightly eccentric late ’60s into early ’70s feel.
We love it styled over denim and a Storyteller blouse, then finished with the Harlow Orange Hat and Clementine Belt. It also works beautifully over a simple knit when you want the coat to take centre stage.
Inside, it’s fully cotton lined for a soft, comfortable finish. We can easily picture Janis Joplin in this one with a huge fur hat, sunglasses and layers of jewellery.
