Pamela Des Barres x The Hippie Shake
Created in collaboration with Pamela Des Barres, this collection is a love letter to femininity, freedom and self-expression, inspired by her life, her style and the electric spirit of the late 60s and early 70s.
Bohemian prints, ethereal lace, flowing silhouettes and rich velvets come together in pieces designed to feel intimate, romantic and expressive.
From handkerchief dresses that move beautifully with the body to softly statement silhouettes designed to be worn and remembered, each piece reflects a moment, a feeling and a story. Drawing on Pamela’s voice as a writer and muse, this collection celebrates dressing as a form of self-expression, for dancing barefoot at dawn or simply dressing for yourself.
These are clothes for feeling fully, freely and beautifully in bloom.

Where the Garden Blooms
Floral prints have always been part of Pamela’s world. She was drawn to soft repeating florals like those seen in Ossie Clark dresses of the late sixties, romantic prints that felt both feminine and free.
For this collection we studied those vintage references alongside handkerchiefs from Pamela’s own archive. From them, a small garden of flowers was drawn by hand to create a print that felt true to her world.
The result is a floral that feels romantic but grounded. The dark base gives the print depth and makes it easy to wear with black, denim and everyday pieces, while flashes of pale iris bring a fresh spring brightness. It’s a garden in bloom, full of colour, movement and the spirit of Pamela woven through every detail.
The Beauty of Embroidery
Embroidery has always been an important part of The Hippie Shake story. It’s one of the ways we translate the prints and inspirations behind a collection into something tactile and full of character.
For this collection , the flowers found in the prints were reimagined in thread. A blossom-like embroidery appears across the coat, boots and flares, bringing richness and texture to the velvet pieces.Elsewhere, vintage references inspired delicate vine embroidery on the dress and waistcoat, finished with subtle beadwork. The Nightshade Black Velvet Mini Dress also draws on Pamela’s own velvet dress from the 1960s, with its ornate collar reinterpreted in embroidery and scattered floral details.
Across the collection, embroidery becomes another way the story is told, through texture, detail and the beauty of every stitch.
Stories in Handkerchiefs
One of the most personal inspirations for the collection came from Pamela herself. In the 1960s she once made a dress by stitching together vintage handkerchiefs she had collected, turning them into a little handmade mini dress.
Pamela still collects beautiful vintage handkerchiefs and shared some of her favourites with us as inspiration. From these, four handkerchief-style designs were created, capturing the delicate florals and soft vintage feeling of the originals.
The prints were then brought together on soft cotton and finished with zig zag stitching to echo the feeling of hand-sewn patchwork. The result feels feminine, romantic and full of the kind of quiet magic that makes vintage pieces so special.
The Romance of Ruffles
Ruffles appear throughout the collection, framing collars, cuffs and hems with soft movement and feminine detail.
Pamela often wore ruffles in her early days, layering lace, silk and delicate fabrics to create looks that felt romantic and expressive. That spirit runsthrough these pieces, where ruffles add lightness and texture to dresses, blouses and flowing silhouettes.
There are also subtle nods to vintage lingerie, with soft trims and delicate shapes designed for layering. Styled simply or worn together, they bring aneffortless romance to everyday dressing.
