Chancery Lane Patchwork Velvet Coat
The Chancery Lane Patchwork Velvet Coat is the big statement coat of Underground, with rich cotton velvet panels, round pocket detailing and shaggy faux fur trims bringing together so many of the colours running through the collection. The deeper browns, rusts, creams and blues look especially good over denim, but we also love it against the Temple Red jumpsuit.
Finished with brass poppers and a soft cotton lining, the patchwork and oversized fur give it that late 60s, early 70s look we wanted from the start. Wear it over flares and a fitted shirt, or layer it over a jumpsuit with big sunglasses and boots.
Anita Pallenberg was a big reference for this one. Patchwork velvet, huge fur and flares underneath feels completely believable on her, and sums up exactly where we wanted to take the coat.

Underground
Underground began with the London we picture from the late 60s and early 70s. Tiled stations, old carriage windows, bold directional signs, flashes of red, cream and brown, people heading across town in big coats, boots and flares, stopping for records or coffee before carrying on somewhere else.
We loved the look of the Underground from that time. The curved windows, graphic arrows, strong shapes and colours all had so much character, and slowly those details started finding their way into the collection. The half-flower windows seen at old London stations became the appliqué around the Archway dress, while arrows and geometric panelling run through the denim, jumpsuits and outerwear.
From there we started thinking about 70s uniform dressing. Pieces you could wear across the whole day and keep mixing together. A fitted shirt with cropped flares and boots, a jumpsuit under a huge coat, denim with patchwork leather. The collection was designed to work as one wardrobe, with pieces that could be swapped around depending on the day ahead.
