The Moonflower Cream Embroidered Vest grew out of our love for the original Moonflower Penny Lane Coat. We loved the intricate folk-inspired embroidery against the cream fabric so much that we wanted to bring those same beautiful details into a waistcoat made for layering. Cut from soft cream cotton velvet with a fitted shape and cotton lining, it's finished with colourful floral embroidery, delicate beadwork framing the edges and metal buttons down the front. The embroidery continues across the back, with a striking floral design that deserves just as much attention as the front.
It's the sort of waistcoat we could imagine finding in Pattie Boyd's late-sixties wardrobe, layered over a romantic ruffled blouse with velvet flares, a neck scarf and a wide-brimmed hat. For the full look, we'd pair it with our Storyteller Ruffle Blouse and Smoke & Gold Black Embroidered Velvet Trousers. But we love the idea of wearing it with a faded band tee and denim flares just as much, letting all that beautiful embroidery bring something completely different to a more relaxed look.
